Symbol of blessed and happy family life
The trunk of the olive tree sends out shoots that grow around it. 
The trunk is like an aging father, and the shoots are the children sitting around the table as a united group. 
Many trees were uprooted in the Flood waters, but not the olive trees. 
Since the dove returned to Noah’s ark, the olive branch in its beak has come to symbolize hope and peace..
